Russia and Kyrgyzstan are strategic partners, Kyrgyz Prime Minister
Almazbek Atambayev said at a meeting in Cholpon-Ata with the co-chair
of the Russian-Kyrgyz inter-governmental commission for cooperation
Andrey Belyanin, the head of the Russian Customs Service, ITAR-TASS
reports.
The officials discussed prospects for development and topical affairs
of Russian-Kyrgyz relations. They also discussed the coming meeting in
Bishkek in November.
Trade turnover between the two states reached $1.4 billion. Russia has
a share of 25% of Kyrgyz foreign trade, the Minister for Economic
Regulation of Kyrgyzstan, Uchkunbek Tashbayev, said.
Russia invested $95.9 million, mainly in the processing industry in
2010. Russia and Kyrgyzstan are realizing energy, oil and gas
projects.
