The Turkish General Staff has reported on the death toll at the terrorist attack of Khakkari in Chukurdzha District, Trend reports.
9 servicemen died and 15 were injured, one of them gravely wounded in a mine blast.
The terrorist attack was organized by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. The separatists had opened fire at the military after the mine exploded.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul said that the country would not wait for the Ramadan to end to start the operation. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that harsh measures would be taken for the attack.
The Turkish air forces bombed Kurdish separatists in North Iraq on Thirsday morning.
CNN-Turk said that about 15 fighters, including F-16, attacked the Kurdish bases.
