Closer regional ties are Iran's priority

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says the Islamic Republic considers expanding ties with its neighbors as one of the priorities in its foreign policy, Press TV reports.

Salehi, who arrived in Moscow on Tuesday for talks with Russian officials, hailed the new prospects of stronger Iran-Russia relations as part of Tehran's efforts to boost ties with its neighbors.

“Fortunately, thanks to the Islamic [Republic of] Iran's great advancements in various fields, and also the regional and international developments, conditions have been created for Russians to express their willingness to expand bilateral ties,” Salehi told the staff of Moscow-based Iranian institutions on Wednesday.
