US sees terrorist threat in North Caucasus

Russian regions of the North Caucasus remain a source of terrorism
threat, the US State Department said, RIA Novosti reports.


A document on world terrorism was made based on the results of 2010.


Russia saw terrorist attacks in 2010 as a result of instability in the
North Caucasus. The largest attacks were carried out in the Moscow
subway.


Two suicide bombers detonated devices at the Lubyanka and Park Kultury
stations in March 2010. 40 people died and about 100 were injured. The
State Department noted the success of counter-terrorism measures in
Moscow.
