Kazakh CEC confirms election results

The Kazakh Central Electoral Commission confirmed elections to the Senate on 19 August, its secretary Bakhyt Meldeshov said, RIA Novosti reports.


He said that protocols from territorial polling commissions arrived. 16 deputies were elected. The CEC voted unanimously.


Chairman of the CEC Kuandyk Turgankulov clarified that the deputies elected are members of the Nur Otan Party. Seven of them are incumbent members of the Senate. The average age of deputies is 56.5 years.
