Libyan rebel forces are reporting that Muammar Gaddafi’s supporters
are giving up and that the snipers who were surrounding Green Square
in Tripoli have surrendered, Russia Today reports.
Gaddafi’s forces in the Tadzhura District are negotiating a
cease-fire. A bodyguard of the Libyan leader has been arrested. There
is no information on Gaddafi himself. He is thought to be either on
the border of Algeria or in Algeria.
Some media reported that Gaddafi is at his residence of Bab Al-Azizia,
damaged in NATO raids. Al-Arabiya said that his son Hamis sent his
forces to the center of Tripoli.
NATO air forces are circling around Tripoli. 20,000 air missions have
been carried out in the last 5 months, 7,000 of them were raids.
China respects the choice of the Libyan people and hopes for
normalization of the situation in the country, a spokesman for the
Chinese Foreign Ministry, Ma Ziaosung, said, RIA Novosti reports.
