Notwithstanding possible provocations by Georgia toward South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Russia remains a reliable ally of the republics, the head of the international committee of the State Duma, Konstantin Kosachyev said, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier the ministry for foreign affairs of Russia reported that Georgia is preparing to send refugees to South Ossetia under the guise of a “peace march”, devoted to the third anniversary of recognition of the republic’s independence by Russia.
Kosachyev said that Georgian authorities are still unpredictable in their policy toward South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and any provocations are possible.
