The European Union has accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps of suppressing peaceful population of Syria by providing arms and equipment, RIA Novosti reports.
All assets of the corps in the EU were frozen. Their members were banned from visiting EU states.
Similar sanctions against the corps were taken by the US Treasury and State Department for violating the human rights in Iran during presidential polls in 2009.
