By 15:00 Moscow Time, 48.78 % of the voters had taken part in the pre-term presidential elections in Abkhazia, the head of the republic's Central Electoral Committee, Batal Tabagua, said.
According to the recent data, 143 people are expected to vote. In several regions of the country 72 % of the voters have already taken part in the procedure. The Abkhaz Central Electoral Committee believes that most of the voters will have posted their ballots by 20:00, when the procedure finishes.
The pre-term presidential elections in Abkhazia are being held due to former president Sergey Bagapsh's death. Three people are in the running for the presidency. They are acting president Alexander Ankvab, prime minister Sergei Shamba and opposition leader Raul Khadzhimba.
