Libyan embassy in Moscow raises revolutionary flag

The Libyan embassy in Moscow has changed the green flag of the Great
Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya for the red, black and green
rebel flag, RIA Novosti reports.

The flag used by King Idris was replaced by Muammar Gaddafi’s regime
in 1969. The new flag has been raised in the Czech Republic, the
Philippines and Mexico. Over 30 states, including the USA, have
recognized the new government of Libya.

The Libyan embassy in Moscow lowered the old flag on August 25. The
disorders in Libya have been ongoing for over half a year. The
National Transitional Council of rebels was formed in Benghazi on
February 27. It is headed by former Justice Minister Mustafa Abdel
Jalil.
