Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that he will recommend Georgy Poltavchenko as governor of St. Petersburg, RIA Novosti reports.
Poltavchenko is the Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the Central Federal District and the Acting Governor of Petersburg.
His inauguration will be held on August 31. Speaker of the Parliament of Petersburg Vadim Tyulpanov informed that the list of candidates for governor had been filed to Moscow.
