Syrian authorities have launched serious social reforms aimed at satisfying widespread demands, the country's deputy foreign minister Faisal al-Mikdad told Russia Today, Trend reports on Tuesday.
"After the series of reforms Syria will become a democratic country with multi-party political system," the minister said. According to him, the current uprising is a series of terrorist attacks and not a popular movement.
The EU foreign policy chief, Cathrine Ashton, previously condemned violence in Syria, saying that the Assad regime is no longer
legitimate.
