Iran sends humanitarian aid to Somalia

The Red Crescent Society has sent a ninth helicopter carrying
humanitarian aid to Somalia, Trend reports.


It contains medicines, food and other essential products.


 Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Iranian
people to help Somalia on August 15. Iran has sent 300 tons of
humanitarian aid due to the area, where over 3 million people are on
the brink of death due to droughts and famine.


The UN has declared a famine in Somalia, which has seen the greatest
drought of the decade. The World Bank announced that 29,000 children
under 5 have died in the last three months.
