The Russian ambassador to Armenia, Vyacheslav Kavalenko. commented on recent publications about mass emigration from Armenia to Russia, Svoboda radio reports.
According to the ambassador, the whole campaign was started by those who are interested in gaining political advantage. He said no one forces Armenians to leave their country. "Who forces them to go? If an Armenian doesn't want to leave the country, he won't do it," the ambassador said.
The remarks came after series of publications about the Russian-sponsored 'Compatriots' program, launched to help Armenian
citizens to emigrate to Russia.
