Armenia recognizes National Transitional Council of Libya

Yerevan has recognized the National Transitional Council of Libya,
press-secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan said,
News Armenia reports.


Protests in Libya started in mid-February. Protesters demanded the
reignation of Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi, who had controlled the
state for over 40 years. Their actions turned into clashes with the
state forces.


The National Transitional Council of Libya was formed in Benghazi on
February 27. 45 states, including the US, have recognized the NTC.
