Armenia marks 20th anniversary of emergency systems

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan marked the 20th anniversary of formation of emergency systems in Armenia, Hayinfo reports.


Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Secretary of the Security Council Artur Bagdasaryan, Prosecutor General Agvan Ovsepyan and other high-ranking officials were at the special event.


Armenian Emergencies Minister Armen Yeritsyan noted that organization of the structure was necessary after the Spitakskoye Earthquake in 1988.


The national seismology service was formed on July 14, 1991. A state service for emergency situations of the government was organized on December 4. Armenia formed the rescue service on September 4.
Armenia opened the Center of Crisis Management of the Emergencies Ministry.


A concert was organized at the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet of Alexander Spendiaryan.
