Azerbaijani Defense Minister receives EU Special Representative for South Caucasus

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Safar Abiyev received the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus, Philippe Lefort on Monday, Trend reports quoting the press service of the department.

During the meeting they discussed the tense political and military situation in the region and one million Azerbaijanis left out of their native lands.

Abiyev said that the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group has not yet yielded concrete results, and talked about double standards in relations between Azerbaijan and the EU. Abiyev expressed his hope that the EU will make greater efforts in resolving the conflict.
