The Turkish and Israeli peoples are friendly and Ankara would not want
to ruin relations with Israel, Turkish Ambassador to Baku Khulusi
Kylydzh told Trend on Tuesday.
Turkey insists on Israel's apologies. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet
Davutoglu said on September 2 that military cooperation with Israel
had been halted.
Ankara called its ambassador from Tel Aviv off.
The two states had good ties in the military-political spheres until
Israel attacked the Freedom Flotilla of Turkey on May 31. The flotilla
was heading to the Gaza Sector. 9 Turks were killed in the attack.
Ankara demanded official apologies and compensations for families of
the killed Turks.
Hopes for restoration of ties were in December 2010 when Turkey sent
two planes to help Israel put out forest fires that killed 41 people.
Israel refused to apologize.
