The Polish city of Krynica-Zdroj is hosting the 21st Economic Forum,
organized by the Warsaw Institute for Eastern Studies. The meeting is
held under the slogan “European Dilemmas: Partnership and
Competition”. Alexey Vlasov, Editor-in-Chief of Vestnik Kavkaza, is
attending the conference.
The second day of the forum saw a speech by Victor Yushchenko. The
former president said that he is proud of the 20 years of Ukraine’s
independence. The country has reached a high economic growth rate and
attracts international investments. A lot has changed in the last five
years.
Victor Yushchenko noted that the European Union will reach a new level
of integration and believes that Ukraine will be part of it.
Estonian Parliamentary Speaker Ene Ergma noted that the formation of
“financial pyramids” by some EU states collides with further thoughts
about integration. She underlined that they must not lose the trust of
the population.
