To withdraw Armenian-Turkish protocols from parliament's agenda is up to president

The Armenian-Turkish protocols can be withdrawn from the agenda only by President Serzh Sargsyan, as it is his exclusive right, News.am cites Armenian parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamyan as saying.

“The Armenian president has the right to withdraw the protocols. The protocols have not been removed from the Turkish parliament. They were left out after the new parliament was established. I believe that our president is well aware of the political processes in Turkey,” Abrahamyan said, adding that "President Sargsyan will adopt a better approach in case Turkish government does not offer to include the protocols on the agenda".

However, the Armenian parliamentary speaker is ready to ask the president to withdraw the protocols if the coalition powers and all parliamentary factions decide there is a need to turn to the president.

The Turkish parliament recently withdrew the protocols from the agenda.
