Armenian authorities see no reasons for turning down dialogue with opposition

The Armenian National Congress and the authorities will soon renew their dialogue, a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Gagik Melikyan said, Armenia Today reports.

Melikyan says that dialogue became possible with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's balanced policy. The ANC has no reasons to stop the dialogue and should not use the language of ultimatums and demands, he added.

The arrest of activist Tigran Arakelyan and young activists of the ANC is not a reason to stop the dialogue, the MP said. Melikyan said that they will make decisions on September 23. He did not give details on whether they could gather 500,000 protesters.
