Iran shares Russia's negative view on involvement of the EU in constructing the Trans-Caspian pipeline, RIA Novosti reports.
The EU presented a mandate for negotiations with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for construction of the pipeline on Monday. Iran and Russia say it will harm the environment.
The Trans-Caspian pipeline will be 300 km long, running from the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea to the Azerbaijani coast, where it will be connected to the Southern Gas Corridor. Negotiations on construction of the pipeline have been ongoing since the 1990s.
