Parliementary elections held in unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh

Elections for parliament were held today in the unrecognized republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. They were the fifth in the history of the republic, over 60% took part in the elections. The overall number of voters was 95303.
Four political powers participated in the elections. 82 candidates participated from party lists, 40 more candidates were enlisted by the majority-vote system. 16 places in the parliament will go to parties, 17 places will go to independent deputies. The elections in Karabakh have been called illegitimate by the EU, US, Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, although, small groups of observers from Armenia and Russia came to watch the process.
