French President Nikolas Sarkozy will visit the South Caucasus region on 6-7 October, Reuters reports.
Azerbaijani ambassador to France Elchin Amirbekov confirmed that President Sarkozy would maker an official visit Azerbaijan, the first ever by a head of France to Azerbaijan.
Sarkozy will also visit Georgia and Armenia. He will speak about cooperation with the region’s countries. Preliminary discussions on cooperation with Azerbaijan will be held in Paris on 23 September at a session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, Amirbekov told Trend on Friday.
The Azeri State Statistics Committee puts trade turnover between the two countries for January to June 2011 at 2.2 billion dollars. 30 intergovernmental agreements exist between them.
