Azerbaijan and Ukraine discuss energy cooperation

Azerbaijani Minister for Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev and Ukrainian Minister for Energy and Coal Industry Yuri Boyko are discussing energy cooperation, Trend reports.

The sides are working on documents signed at a meeting of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Victor Yanukovych in January 2011, an oil transport deal and a memorandum on cooperation in liquefied gas transport through Ukraine.

Liquefied gas supplies are available within the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector (AGRI) project, transporting it from Azerbaijan through Georgia and the Black Sea to Romania.

The project has 3 versions: two billion cubic meters annually, 5 billion and 8 billion. The project’s expenses vary from 1.2 billion euros to 4.5 billion.

Ukraine is currently building a terminal to receive gas.
