Kazakhstan and France develop bilateral cooperation

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev is on a visit to France, where he determined new prospects for bilateral trade-economic and industrial-technical cooperation, Trend reports.


Leaders of both states want a direct air connection between Astana and Paris in the near future. They underlined the strategic nature of the partnership between Kazatomprom and the Aréva Group and welcomed the signing of an agreement between Kazatomprom and the Bureau for Research in Geology and Mining (BRGM) to form a laboratory for rare resources.


Both leaders noted the role of Total in realization of the North-Caspian project and expressed hope for oil extraction at the Kashagan field in the near future.


France’s Alstorm will be realizing light rail systems in Astana, Air Liquide will work on production of industrial gases in Kazakhstan.
