Azerbaijan and Georgia to protect trademarks and geographic names together

Georgia and Azerbaijan are negotiating an agreement to protect trademarks and geographic names, APA cites Beka Chkheidze, Chief Advisor of the Georgian embassy to Azerbaijan, as saying.

The diplomat noted that Georgia has 30 national products and trademarks patented. This includes khachapuri, chacha, churchkhela and others. The Georgian National Center for Intellectual Property is concerned about appropriation of national products and trademarks. Chkheidze made mention of Borzhomi mineral water and a geographic location. There have been reports about falsified mineral water production.
