Train services have yet to be resumed in Makhachkala, the capital of Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, after a blast derailed 14 freight cars, ITAR-TASS said on Friday.
The explosion took place near the capital at 9:20 p.m. (18:20 GMT) on Thursday evening. No one was hurt.
Some 700 passengers on three trains have been affected, RIA Novosti reported.
Repair work is expected to be completed later today.
