Russian Minister for Communication Igor Shegolev has launched the first digital TV of the North Caucasus in Vladikavkaz today, RIA Novosti reports.
The TV was launched at a session of the Council for Regional Information in North Ossetia. Shegolev observed stands of Rostelecom, Ministry for Education and Science of North Ossetia, Russian Mail.
Members of the council from all Russian regions, Ministries of Communciation, Economic Development, Regional Development, Finances and other structures will discuss formation of an electronic government, improvement of the quality of services, exchange views on topical issues.
Shegolev is expected to open a consultative center for citizens willing to have digital TV.
The council is part of the government commission for implementation of information technologies into state structures and local autonomies. The commission is headed by Vice-Premier Vyacheslav Volodin. Its members are vice-premiers, vice-governors responsible for informatization and formation of an electronic government.
The council is developing a common policy for regional informatization and operative reaction to related problems. Three sessions were held in Moscow prior to the Vladikavkaz session. The fourth session in North Ossetia was approved by North Ossetian Leader Taymuraz Mamsurov and Minister Igor Shegolev.
