Ezatollah Zagrami, head of the Iranian State TV and Radio Company IRIB, announced that Tehran will open a Russian-language channel to broadcast for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Press TV reports.
Zagrami has recently returned from Kiev where he observed Iranian films, series and animated films demonstrated with Russian subtitles. Tehran plans to broadcast using European satellites and the Internet. It will be the fourth Russian-language channel for foreigners.
Iran launched the 24/7 channel Press TV and Al-Alam broadcasting in Arabian. Hispan TV for Latin America was launched in late August 2011. Hispan TV is to give information on life in Iran to Spanish speakers.
