The CIS Economic Council has held the 51st session with Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev present in Alma-Ata today, ITAR-TASS reports.
The press secretary of the CIS Executive Committee, Vladimir Nikanorov, said that 11 states attended the meeting.
The sides discussed interstate innovative cooperation until 2020, currency integration and control and the free trade zone. A special session to discuss the latter will be held in Saint-Petersburg on October 18.
The Economic Council has talked on realization of the plan for 2009-2011, the strategy of economic cooperation of the CIS, the coordination committee for transport corridors of the CIS, the CIS budget and introduced amendments to CIS documents.
The next session of the CIS Economic Council will be held in Moscow on December 9.
