The Governonr of Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachyov, announced that City Day celebrations in Krasnodar have been cancelled due to a terrorist threat, Yuga.ru reports on Sunday.
"The law-enforcement agencies received information that terrorists are planing an attack. We had to cancel all celebrations. 2000 policemen are searching the center of the city," Tkachyov said.
The mayor of Krasnodar, Vladimir Yevlanov, said he hoped the possible attack would be prevented and the celebrations would continue.
