CNN calls Erdogan best leader for country since Ataturk

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave an interview to CNN. The channel called Erdogan the best Turkish leader since Ataturk. The prime minister had 9 telephone conversations with US President Barack Obama.


The interview was hosted by Farid Zakaria. The CNN expert noted problems between Turkey and Israel. Erdogan stated that the attack on humanitarian vessels was unacceptable. Turkey demands apologies and compensations to the families of the killed crew members and a lifting of the embargo on the Gaza Strip. Relations between the two states would never normalize unless the demands are fulfilled.


Commenting on Syria, Erdogan said that the government would not stay in power through violence and suppression of people.


The Turkish PM discussed Iran and said that Turkey will not allow anyone to attack the Islamic Republic. He added that if foreign states forbid Iran to develop nuclear arms they should do the same with Israel.
