Russia guarantees peace in the Caucasus

Addressing the UN General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia guarantees peace and stability in the Caucasus.

The minister also said that Russia supports the Arab people's struggle for freedom and a better future.

Russia will do its best to prevent new conflicts in the region, Lavrov said, adding that Russia can serve as a mediator in Georgia's talks with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
