Chechen leader in live Q&A

Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov had a live show for 3.5 hours on the Grozny Channel and answered questions from the public.

The streets of Grozny and nearby villages were almost deserted with everyone watching the show. Heads of all ministries, cities, districts, law-enforcing structures, territorial administrations of Chechnya and clergy were present. Kadyrov ordered them to respond to questions.

Kadyrov answered phone calls, SMS messages (over 46,000), that came from Chechnya, Russian regions and abroad.

Not a single question concerned security, which demonstrates that the situation had improved significantly in the last 3-4 years. Back then almost every call questioned security.

Most calls this year were about housing, damage compensations for counter-terrorism operations, support for treatment, employment, small and medium business development, construction and return of population to mountain areas.

A special commission was established to study every call and solve problems citizens ask about. The commission is headed by MP Adam Delimkhanov, an advisor of Kadyrov.
