Bars El is a new organization for preservation of North Caucasian traditions. It was presented in late September and gathered well-known figures of science, culture, medicine, sports, business, publicity, politics, religion from Karachay-Cherkessia.
The organization was registered by the Fund for Support of Development of Karachay-Balkarian Youth “Ekbrusoid” in Moscow in late 2010.
Aliy Totorkulov, Chairman of Bars El and President of the Elbrusoid Fund, said that each ethnicity is based on five basic elements: language, culture, history, religion and territory.
About 400 people gathered. Head of government of Karachay-Cherkessia, Eldar Salpagarov, greeted them on behalf of the the Kabardino-Balkarian leader.
Bars El will have the first conference in late November – early December 2011. A presentation will be held in Nalchik, capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, on October 8.
