Armenia will start a census on October 12, News Armenia reports.
The census was discussed at a session of the state commission for census on Monday. Armen Gevorkyan, Vice-Premier and Minister for Territorial Administration, chaired the session.
Stepan Mnatsakanyan, head of the National Statistics Service, presented brief information on the process (available on www.mta.gov and www.armstat.am).
He thanked the Armenian Apostolic Church for support by providing information.
The census will last until October 21. It is the first census in Armenia, the first was held in 2001.
