Border management of South Caucasus discussed in South Caucasus

Tbilisi is hosting a meeting of advisors of the Program for Common Border Management of the South Caucasus, Trend reports.


The meeting is to have presentations of reports on the work of Azerbaijani, Armenian and Georgian offices in the sphere. Officials arrived from the EU, the USA, EU embassies, the UN Development Program (UNDP) and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).


The program is financed by the EU and promotes common management of borders in South Caucasus. It simplifies border crossing for citizens and freighting. The program is implemented by the control posts of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. The initiative is worth 6.3 million euros. It is realized by the UNDP, the ICMPD and a consortium of Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, France, the Czech Republic and Poland.
