North Caucasus militancy 'stabilized'

The situation surrounding terrorism in the North Caucasus has stabilized, Russian Internal Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said today, Yuga.ru reports.

The minister held a meeting with representatives of the law-enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Minister Nurgaliyev said that this year there were two times fewer terrorist attacks and that more than 300 militants were killed in 2011.

"The current tendency shows that the situation has stabilized," Nurgaliyev said.
