Georgia and Azerbaijan negotiate delimitation and demarcation of border

The State Committee for Land and Cartography has held a press conference and discussed delimitation and demarcation of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border, AZE.az reports.


The chairman of the committee, Garib Mamedov, said that experts are discussing the border issue. Azerbaijani experts will visit Tbilisi for the talks.


The border between Azerbaijan and Georgia is 480 km long. Its delimitation has been ongoing since 1996. 300 km of the border have been settled already.


Mamedov noted the delimitation and demarcation deals between Azerbaijan and Russia as a significant political aspect. Russia recognizes the independence of Azerbaijan within the existing borders.
