Turkey has reacted with alarm to Israel’s approval of the construction of new Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem, consisting of 1,600 houses, 6news reports.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the announcement of this decision at a time when necessity of confidence between the sides is felt especially sharply causes serious doubts in the position and intentions of Israel.
Turkey called on Israel to review the decision and avoid steps that may change the situation in Jerusalem and damage the peace process.
