Kazakhstan and Turkey may revive the Silk Route in Eurasia, Turkish
President Abdullah Gul said, reports Interfax.
"Kazakhstan and Turkey will fulfill an important and historical role
in the development of transport, communication and energy corridors,
or in other words, the re-establishment of Silk Route, which was a
link between Europe and Asia," Gul said during his visit to
Kazakhstan.
The Turkish president said, that "the power of our countries" and
their economically advantageous location in the region, in which
leading producers and markets are located, provide "enormous
opportunities for cooperation" in economics and the revival of the
Silk Route. After the construction of the railway Baku-Tbilisi-Kars,
which will link China, the Far East and Europe, an important part of
the project will be completed, Gul said.
