US appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan

US President Barack Obama has appointed Mathew Braise as new
ambassador to Azerbaijan, press service of the White House said,
reports ITAR-TASS.
Braise still has to be approved by the US Congress. Until now he has
been a deputy aide of the US State Secretary on issues of Europe and
Eurasia and supervised relations with Transcaucasus republics in the
post-Soviet space.
