Iran suggests opening crossing point on border with Azerbaijan

Iran offered Azerbaijan to open a border crossing point in Ardebil Province, head of the province Hussein Sabiri said, Trend reports.

Sabiri said that he had contacted the Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan to initiate discussions of the issue. Opening the crossing point would improve the welfare of the local population of both states and improve economic ties.

It may receive fuel for the Nakhchyvan Autonomous Republic at the Bilyasuvar border point and send the same amount of fuel to the control point in Julfa.
