Syria warns Turkey against augmentation of conflict in country

Turkey must stop augmentation of conflicts in Syria and provisions of weapons to opposition, Presidential Advisor Busein Shaaban said, Trend reports.


The advisor says some countries are sponsoring opposition groups.


Syrian President Bashar Assad said earlier that Turkey sends arms to rebels and represents interests of the USA.


Turkey had training at the Khatay area near the Syrian border on October 3-15. Turkish forces were concentrating on the Syrian border due to refugee flows. Syrian tanks and infantry stationed 500 meters from the border.


Turkey currently has 7,605 Syrian refugees. They are located in 5 camps managed by the Red Crescent Organization.


Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on his visit to South Africa that he was preparing a package of sanctions. Turkey froze all assets of Assad and his family. He will be banned from visiting the state.
