United Russia to publish electoral program on October 19

The United Russia party plans to publish its electoral program for the parliamentary polls on October 19, the secretary of the party’s presidium of the general council, Sergey Neverov, said, RIA Novosti reports.

The program was based on speeches by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the leader of the electoral list of the party, President Dmitry Medvedev.

The program is split into 83 sections and will be in force for 5 years. The program supports a multi-confessional world, free development of cultures of Russian peoples, increasing wages and pensions and fulfilment of social demands.

Road construction is planned to double in 10 years, Russia is to achieve full food independence in 5 years. The average wage is to increase 50% by 2014.

The United Russia Party plans to keep the majority of its seats in the parliament, which is 315. Neverov says there are no fears that the opposition would blame the party for using administrative resources and having Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as leader. Any party would use such members with full efficiency if it had them, he concludes.
