A leader of the Christian Democrats in Georgia, Levan Vepkhvadze, does not rule out possible early presidential polls in early spring. He explained that the government might want to be more swift so that Ivanishvili can't form a party infrastructure in time.
Vepkhvadze does not see a need for early elections, because his party is well-prepared for them.
Erosi Kitsmarishvili, a leader of the Georgian Party, told the Kavkasia Channel live that Mikheil Saakashvili might hold early polls. The idea was arrived at during consultations in Europe.
Saakashvili knows that Russia will hold presidential polls in early March and the US will hold them in autumn 2012.
Mikheil Saakashvili cannot take part in the elections in 2013, according to current laws.
