An International Islamic Conference has started in the Dagestani capital of Makhachkala, the Russian Information Agency Dagestan reports on Thursday.
The event is being held in the framework of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Dagestani State University.
The conference was organized by Dagestani State University, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Anthropology Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The conference is being attended by representatives of Iran and Azerbaijan.
