Mehmet Germez, the head of the Turkish Administration for Religious Affairs, is on a visit to Azerbaijan. The visit is important for development of ties between the two states, the head of the Caucasian Muslim Administration, Sheikh ul-Islam Allakhshukur Pashazadeh, said, 1news.az reports.
Pashazadeh said that they had discussed interstate relations of Turkey and Azerbaijan and religion. They also talked about separatism, drug addiction and the terrorist activities of the Kurdish Workers’ Party.
The sides also discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and concluded that religious structures of both states need to inform the public about the just position of Azerbaijan in the issue.
Pashazadeh noted the positive role of friendly ties between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
