Ingush authorities plan to reduce unemployment to 20% by 2016, Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said, RIA Novosti reports.
The current unemployment level is over 40%. The program for strategic development of the North Caucasian Federal District is to reduce unemployment in the region to an average Russian level, Yevkurov said at the International Forum for Strategic Planning in Russian Regions and Cities in Saint-Petersburg today.
Reduction of unemployment is an important goal for socio-economic development, including improvement of labour resources and investment climate. Tourism is also an important part.
The republic lacks culture facilities. Ingushetia does not even have a cultural center to gather 600 people, a sports center, a pool and an ice skating arena.
